چکیده
Abstract Background Auditory neuropathy spectrum disorder (ANSD) is characterized by normal OHCs function as shown intact cochlear microphonics (CMs) and/or otoacoustic emissions (OAEs); absent or grossly abnormal auditory brainstem responses (ABRs) and middle ear muscle reflexes. This study designed to address whether the input/output of distortion product OAEs (DPOAEs I/O) in ANSD patients similar different from hearing subjects. work included 2 groups: control group (GI) composed 20 subjects (GII) consisted with ANSD. All cases were subjected basic audiological evaluation, DPOAEs I/O recorded at four frequencies 2f1-f2 5 intensity levels L1 L2. Results amplitudes significantly higher when compared control. The pattern was it dependent on frequency stimulus. Conclusions Despite recordings patients, their DP are that finding suggested OHC activity patients.

Children With Auditory Neuropathy Spectrum Disorder (ANSD)
In 1991, Arnold Starr and colleagues described an 11-year-old child with the paradoxic findings of absent auditory brainstem responses in the presence of normal cochlear microphonics (CMs) and otoacoustic emissions (OAEs). The child demonstrated severely impaired speech understanding despite a mild loss of hearing sensitivity. Further evaluation showed impaired temporal processing as exhibited ...

INTRODUCTION ANSD is a challenging problem. OBJECTIVE To present our experience on management of the children with ANSD with respect to clinical data. METHODS This retrospective study included all children younger than 16 years of age who applied to the department between 2005 and 2013 (with the exception of newborn hearing screening NHS referrals). The data were derived from pure tone, OAE...
متن کاملGATA3 haploinsufficiency causes a rapid deterioration of distortion product otoacoustic emissions (DPOAEs) in mice.
Human HDR (hypoparathyroidism, deafness and renal dysplasia)-syndrome is caused by haploinsufficiency of zinc-finger transcription factor GATA3. The hearing loss due to GATA3 haploinsufficiency has been shown to be peripheral in origin, but it is unclear to what extent potential aberrations in the outer hair cells (OHCs) contribute to this disorder. To further elucidate the pathophysiological m...

متن کاملRelationship Between Distortion Product – Otoacoustic Emissions (DPOAEs) and High-Frequency Acoustic Immittance Measures
BACKGROUND Pathologies that alter the impedance of the middle ear may consequently modify the DPOAE amplitude. The aim of this study was to correlate information from 2 different clinical procedures assessing middle ear status. Data from DPOAE responses (both DP-Gram and DP I/O functions) were correlated with data from multi-component tympanometry at 1000 Hz. MATERIAL AND METHODS The subjects w...
